Asbestos Management Plans

Affordable nationwide UKAS accredited asbestos plan services

Have you created an asbestos control plan? All of our asbestos inspection services meet the standard laid out in ISO 17020, which makes us your perfect partner for creating a workable, practical and rugged asbestos action plan. It matters because an asbestos management plan is required under Regulation 4 (Duty to Manage) of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The document we create for you will detail exactly how asbestos will be managed on your premises, and confirm which procedures are in place to ensure people remain safe from exposure.

No wonder our clients find it so simple yet effective.

Answers to popular asbestos plan questions

What is an asbestos management plan (AMP)?

An asbestos control plan is a detailed, simple, centrally located document that clearly reveals all this:

• The person or people responsible for managing asbestos
• The policies around asbestos, including how often the plan is updated
• An asbestos register detailing all current asbestos containing materials (ACMs) from your survey, including the condition, location, and extent of the asbestos plus the priorities you have set for dealing with it
• The schedule for monitoring
• Ongoing and planned works that might disturb ACMs
• Determining priorities for action – your Actions List
• Your training requirements and training schedule
• Emergency procedures
• Communication strategies

What form does an asbestos plan take?

Your asbestos control plan can be paper based or electronic. But it must be easily accessible for anyone who needs it, and it has to be easy to update. The official Duty Holder is responsible for all this.

Do I need an asbestos action plan?

If you own or manage a non-domestic building that was built before 2000, under Regulation 4 (Duty to Manage) of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 you have a duty to manage all asbestos containing materials within your building. It applies to both the public and private sectors. The best way to comply is to arrange a Management Asbestos Survey. This will tell you whether the building contains ACMs. If so, you will need to create a plan to manage it.
