Asbestos Site Sampling

Same day asbestos testing available - 24 hour turnaround for laboratory results

It isn’t always necessary to have a full survey to identify an asbestos containing material or ACM. But only a proper laboratory analysis can identify and confirm the presence and type of asbestos in your building or work area. Our popular asbestos sampling service identifies asbestos in the samples you provide. Alternatively we’ll come and safely collect your samples for analysis.
Asbestos bulk identification

How fast is our asbestos testing service?

We usually offer a 24 hour turnaround for site visits to safely take a sample, and for in-house Bulk Identification analysis. We can often offer a same day visit to take samples depending on our workload, the timing, and number of samples required.

What is asbestos sample testing?

Our asbestos consultants are fully trained, extremely competent, and perfectly equipped to ensure your samples are taken in a safe and controlled manner. This minimises the risk of accidentally releasing fibres into the surroundings.

We safely encapsulate the sample points once we’ve completed our asbestos sampling work. All the areas where a sample has been taken will be safe for people to occupy. We stick to every in-house procedure in line with the regulations and guidance, namely the Control of Asbestos Regulation 2012, HSG264 The Surveying Guide.

Thanks to our own in-house UKAS accredited laboratory, our team can analyse the sample quickly, significantly reducing your waiting time. It’s so much faster and more efficient than sending samples to an external lab.

Let’s answer your asbestos site sampling questions

Will you be safe during asbestos sampling?

Yes. Before we take the sample of the suspect material, we will safely segregate the area and make sure no one is present. We take all the right control measures to reduce the release of airborne fibres, including wetting of the area using surfactant and using our own special vacuum. Then we surround the sample point using ET150 or a similar liquid encapsulation agent, before cleaning the area so you can get back to normal. Finally, we double-bag every sample individually.

Can you take the asbestos testing sample yourself and have it delivered to us?

In certain situations, yes. Please follow these steps recommended on the HSE website. If a chunk has already broken off, you can take the sample yourself as long as there’s no risk of spreading debris or exposing yourself to dust. Be careful where you walk. Dampen the sample to prevent dust escaping from it. Put it into a self-sealing polythene bag, and place the bag inside a second self-sealing bag. Label it, then contact us to arrange the analysis in our accredited asbestos sample testing laboratory. Otherwise, we’re always happy to safely obtain the sample for you, or collect it from you.
