The different waste acceptance criteria for landfill
There are different WAC for inert, non-hazardous waste, and hazardous waste. Landfills for inert waste can only take inert waste meeting the relevant WAC. Landfills for non-hazardous waste can take municipal waste, other non-hazardous waste fulfilling the relevant WAC, and stable, non-reactive wastes under some circumstances, as long as they’re not deposited along with biodegradable non-hazardous waste. And landfills for hazardous waste can only take waste that has been classified as hazardous.
