Yes. Before we take the sample of the suspect material, we will safely segregate the area and make sure no one is present. We take all the right control measures to reduce the release of airborne fibres, including wetting of the area using surfactant and using our own special vacuum. Then we surround the sample point using ET150 or a similar liquid encapsulation agent, before cleaning the area so you can get back to normal. Finally, we double-bag every sample individually.
In certain situations, yes. Please follow these steps recommended on the HSE website. If a chunk has already broken off, you can take the sample yourself as long as there's no risk of spreading debris or exposing yourself to dust. Be careful where you walk. Dampen the sample to prevent dust escaping from it. Put it into a self-sealing polythene bag, and place the bag inside a second self-sealing bag. Label it, then contact us to arrange the analysis in our accredited asbestos sample testing laboratory. Otherwise, we're always happy to safely obtain the sample for you, or collect it from you.
We offer same-day and next-day turnaround from our UKAS-accredited laboratory in Meopham, Kent. Same-day is available for urgent projects; standard next-day service applies to most submissions.
